Dream of the Red Chamaber

 

 These figures were inspired by a Tang Dynasty novel from China. In the story a young girls family is forced to sell her into slavery at the age of 12. She is sold to a merchant who makes her his concubine and she is miserable. While he is out of town the army comes through and she meets and fall in love with a young officer. When the arm leaves she begins to use opium to dull her pain. In the end she dies from using the drug but only after suffering her unhappines for many years.
The Dragon symbolizes the bed of China on which she was born. The dragon tattoo represents the addiction under her skin that she can't control. This figure is 12"x12"x22" and is $5000 (US) Sold
